Indian Prime Minister Modi Begins Official Visit to Uzbekistan

New Delhi, August 29. According to the Press Information Bureau of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, at the invitation of Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is paying an official state visit to Uzbekistan from August 29 to 30, marking his fourth visit to the country.

During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral talks with President Mirziyoyev to review comprehensive cooperation achievements and outline future development plans. The two sides will review cooperation in key fields including trade and investment, national defense, digital connectivity, energy, education and people-to-people exchanges, and finalize the agenda for further bilateral cooperation.

The two leaders will also exchange in-depth views on common development goals set by India’s “Viksit Bharat 2047” vision and Uzbekistan’s “Uzbekistan 2030” strategy, promoting long-term strategic docking and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations.

As part of the itinerary, Prime Minister Modi will visit the Shastri Memorial and the Mahatma Gandhi Centre at the National University of the East in Tashkent, consolidating cultural bonds and civilizational exchanges between the two countries.

Upon concluding his visit to Uzbekistan, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan, from August 31 to September 1 to attend the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit. A series of bilateral meetings will be held during the summit to advance regional multilateral cooperation.
