Myanmar‑Vietnam Leaders Look Forward to Prospective Meeting

Nay Pyi Taw, August 26. Vietnamese Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung has paid an official visit to Nay Pyi Taw, capital of Myanmar, and held talks with Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing.

During the meeting, Le Hoai Trung conveyed an official invitation from To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of Vietnam, urging President Min Aung Hlaing to undertake an official state visit to Vietnam, paving the way for a prospective summit between the two countries’ top leaders.

Both sides reviewed the long‑standing traditional friendship between Myanmar and Vietnam, exchanged views on bilateral trade‑investment, defence‑security and regional multilateral affairs. They agreed to advance multi‑level exchanges and deepen practical cooperation across sectors to consolidate the foundation of their good‑neighbourly partnership. Observers expect the invitation for high‑level visit to materialize and usher in a new phase for Myanmar‑Vietnam relations.
