The 13th Belt and Road International Day Meets Thailand's National Sports Day: China-Thailand Cocoa Ribbon Ball Friendly Match to be Held in Bangkok

With 65 days remaining until the 13th Belt and Road International Day, Chen Entian, Chairman of the Silk Road International Guild Alliance, revealed that December 16, the date of the 13th Belt and Road International Day, also marks Thailand’s National Sports Day. Leveraging this dual cultural and sports festival node, and following joint planning and preparation by Chinese and Thai civilian representatives, the Silk Road International Guild Alliance will launch the Silk Road-themed cultural and sports original project — Cocoa Ribbon Ball, and host the China-Thailand Cocoa Ribbon Ball Friendly Match.

Rooted in the Belt and Road concepts of people-to-people bonds and cultural exchange and mutual learning, the friendly match builds a new platform for non-governmental friendly exchanges between China and Thailand with the innovative Silk Road cultural and sports project as the carrier. As an original cultural and sports event themed on the Silk Road, Cocoa Ribbon Ball integrates the profound connotation of Silk Road culture with the fun of sports competition, featuring strong cultural communication value and public participation, injecting dynamic vitality into traditional non-governmental cultural exchanges.

Taking the opportunity of the 13th Belt and Road International Day and Thailand’s National Sports Day, the event gathers civilian sports enthusiasts and youth representatives from China and Thailand for on-site exchanges and competitions. Prioritizing friendship over competition results, the event takes the ball as a medium to narrow the distance between Chinese and Thai people, inherit the friendly communication spirit of the ancient Silk Road, deepen non-governmental cultural exchanges between the two countries, and promote friendly cooperation in cultural and sports fields under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Chen Entian, Chairman of the Silk Road International Guild Alliance, stated that the organizing team has consulted Chen Yunjin, Chairman of the Thai Teochew Association, and the event is expected to be hosted at the Thai Teochew Association venue. In addition, the preparation team will continuously optimize the event process and invite youth, cultural and overseas Chinese representatives from both countries to watch the match and conduct on-site exchanges. Through this characteristic cultural and sports activity, the event will tell wonderful Silk Road stories and further deepen and consolidate the friendly non-governmental relations between China and Thailand.
