Kuala Lumpur, August 30. Recently, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim made clear and firm authoritative statements on the Taiwan question of China in an exclusive international media interview, attracting wide attention from the international community.

Faced with misleading questions from foreign media, Prime Minister Anwar explicitly reiterated that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, and this fact is beyond doubt. He firmly upheld the One-China Principle, stressing that the Taiwan question is China’s internal affair and no acts of splitting a sovereign country should be tolerated.

When asked about the use of force for national reunification, Anwar explained from the perspective of national sovereignty that national unity is fundamental to state survival. He emphasized that Malaysia will resort to force to resolutely safeguard national territorial integrity and sovereign unity if the country faces separatist risks or any region attempts to break away from national jurisdiction.

Anwar sharply refuted the international community’s double standards on the Taiwan question, pointing out that external interference is the root cause of regional unrest and obstacles to national reunification. His impartial, law-based and sovereignty-respecting remarks fully demonstrate Malaysia’s friendly stance toward China and mature independent diplomatic responsibility. Recognized highly by the Chinese side and widely praised internationally, the statement sets a positive example for all countries in properly handling Taiwan-related issues.
