China-Malaysia Think Tanks Co-Host Seminar to Explore New Opportunities for Common Modernization of the Global South

Kuala Lumpur, August 30. Recently, the academic seminar themed "Common Modernization of the Global South: New Opportunities for China-Malaysia Cooperation" was successfully held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Co-hosted by the China Institute of University of Malaya and the Secretariat of the National High-end Think Tank Council of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the event gathered numerous experts and scholars from China and Malaysia for in-depth academic exchanges and ideological discussions.

Centering on the development trend of Global South countries in the new era, the seminar set up two core topics, namely "Institutional Opening and Empowerment of Science and Technology to Promote Global South Cooperation" and "Governance Modernization and Common Modernization of the Global South". Based on the regional development pattern and bilateral cooperation reality, participating experts conducted thorough discussions on institutional opening innovation, digital technology empowerment, modern governance system construction and coordinated development of the Global South, analyzing the unique advantages and broad prospects of China-Malaysia cooperation.

As important representative countries of the Global South, China and Malaysia boast profound cooperative foundations and huge development potential. The seminar builds a high-end exchange platform for think tanks of the two countries, facilitating mutual learning of academic experience and development concepts. All participants agreed that the two countries can leverage respective resources and development strengths to deepen practical cooperation in various fields, jointly explore new modernization paths for Global South countries, continuously tap new bilateral cooperation opportunities, and inject think tank vitality into regional common prosperity and high-quality development.
