Thailand to Host Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and IMF

Bangkok, August 30. Thailand will host the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund this October. Known as the “Olympics of Global Finance”, it ranks among the world’s most high‑profile economic and financial events.Chen Entian, Chairman of the Southern Silk Road and Global South International Cooperation Organization, extended his congratulations on the upcoming conference.

Around 15,000 delegates from some 200 countries and regions across the globe are expected to attend the gathering. Participants will include state leaders, senior economic and financial policymakers, finance ministers, central bank governors, senior executives and representatives of financial institutions as well as supporting staff.

As a vital global platform for international economic and financial deliberations, the annual meetings will focus on key topics including global economic governance, fiscal and financial stability and sustainable development. It will pool global wisdom to explore pathways for world‑economic growth. Thailand’s hosting of this high‑level conference reflects international recognition of its status as a regional hub, and will boost financial dialogue and practical cooperation between the Asia‑Pacific and the rest of the world.
