Chen Entian Proposes to Host Southern Silk Road Chamber Cooperation Conference in Thailand

Bangkok, August 30. To integrate chamber resources along the Southern Silk Road and serve the economic development of Global South countries, Chen Entian, Chairman of the Global Silk Road Chamber Alliance, has proposed hosting the Southern Silk Road Chamber Cooperation Conference in Thailand. The conference is tentatively scheduled for December 16, 2026, the 13th Belt and Road International Day.

The conference aims to pool strengths of chambers, overseas‑Chinese associations and clan organizations along the Silk Road and build a multi‑lateral non‑governmental dialogue and cooperation platform. It will boost information exchange, resource sharing and project matching among participating institutions. Centering on economic and trade collaboration, cultural inheritance and people‑to‑people exchanges, the conference will give full play to the bridging role of overseas communities, advance practical cooperation among Global South nations and fuel the development of the Southern Silk Road.

According to Chen Entian, local chambers along the route constitute important non‑governmental forces. It is expected that the conference will gather insights from all parties, strengthen inter‑chamber coordination, and inject grassroots vitality into high‑quality Belt and Road cooperation and people‑to‑people bonds. The alliance will further consult relevant Thai overseas‑Chinese organizations to refine preparation work for the conference.
